Olive cultivation, since ancient times, has distinguished the Province of Lucca: just think that around the middle of the fifteenth century olive oil was defined "one of the goods necessary for the life of man" and in a treatise on olive cultivation of the nineteenth century is that "the oils most celebrated for their finesse are those of LUCCA that enjoy great fame abroad. Nearly all the other oils of the Tuscany Region are approached".

All this is possible to prove it also at the event: "Il Desco - Sapori and the knowledge of Lucca" a large outdoor table where you can meet the flavors and knowledge of a land rich in food and wine: a real itinerary that returns every year to Real Collegio in Lucca during the weekends of November and December.
